“Where do you get your ideas?” is undoubtedly the question I’m asked most often by readers. The dirty secret is that many of my ideas seem to come to me during long walks I take around my neighbourhood with my dog. This is particularly true of All These Things I’ve Done, which is the only novel I’ve ever set in New York City. When I was conceiving of the book, I’d walk around my city and try to imagine what the future might look like here. The video you’re about to watch shows a handful of the places that inspired the book and that inspire me every day. P.S. If you watch closely, there’s even a major spoiler about an important location in book two, Because It Is My Blood.
