Interview:

Thank you so much for taking the time out to be here today, How are you?

I am doing great! I tackled some edits, helped a friend with some research, cleaned house, got on the exercise bike, and did a little writing.

~ Can you share with readers your latest news?

My latest release, The Silken Edge has been receiving really good reviews, and that has inspired me to write book two a little faster.

~ Can you tell us about your new series The Silken Edge?

Originally it was going to be three or four books, but it's growing in my mind. Good for the readers, but more work for me! But that's okay. I'm enjoying it and we'll see where it takes me. The Silken Edge Series revolves around people who are into the BDSM scene at an exclusive club called Underground Decadence. Each book concentrates on one or two people at a time, and focuses on their lives, how the scene comes into play for them, and how it effects their relationships.

~ Where do you get most of your inspiration from?

My brain! How scary is that? For book one - just simple visits to the gym on equipment that spread my legs got me thinking, and I'm sure you know about what.

Book two - I have family that works for the airlines, so the first quarter of the book revolves around something that happens on a plane.

For me inspiration hits at odd times and in the strangest places.

~ Are any of your characters experiences based on your own?

Yes, and no. Yes, I go to the gym, and fly on airplanes, but after that that's where my characters take on their own lives. They do things that I've never done (yet), and I use my imagination and tons of research to try and get it right.

~ What was the hardest part of writing the first book in the series?

I didn't decide to make The Silken Edge a series until two-thirds of the way through. That's when the secondary characters started begging for their own stories to be told. So it wasn't hard for me at all. Now being able to do them justice in their own books, that will be the difficult part.

~ Which song best suits your personality?

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (the title suits me).

~ Do you travel much concerning your work?

Not concerning my work. I just like to travel!

~ What is the best thing a fan has ever said to you?

There are a couple things I've loved hearing; that they couldn't put my book down, or that I made them emotional (in one way or another). Those two things are huge compliments to me. That means I was able to draw them into my world, and keep them there.

~ Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

Write everyday, and read a lot! You have to work your brain just as you would muscles when you work out. Your brain can get rusty and out of shape if you don't work it every day.

~ Is there anything I haven't asked which you wish I had?

Not that I can think of off the top of my head... but it is late here. It's 230AM as I type this. I'm a night owl since birth though.

BDSM:

~ What is your view on BDSM?

I'm cool with it, as long as it's Safe/Sane/Consensual.

~ Why do you think people are beginning to open up to it more?

Books like Fifty Shades are opening people up to the idea. Before that became such a hit, people didn't really talk about it. It's become a huge topic amongst people, and all over the internet. And the majority of it is positive. Not many are forsaking it.

~ Have you ever tried it? What were your experiences?

I've tried the BD part of it, but no SM, that's a little too much for me personally.
As far as my experiences, I'm lucky to have a willing partner who doesn't mind experimenting with a little blindfold/restraint/spanking/flogging/nippleclamp/vibrating fun.

~ What is your favourite BDSM novel?

I enjoyed reading, Red Phoenix and her Brie Series, and Kallypso Master's with the Masters at Arms series.

I loved the way both ladies were able to write on the topic and keep to a really good storyline, while at the same time introducing you to some memorable characters

~ Are you dominant or submissive?

In every aspect of life I'm dominant, except in the bedroom where I love surrendering and being submissive. On the rare occasion, depends on my mood, I will top a scene just because I can ;) So if you had to classify me, perhaps you would call me a switch with submissive tendencies.

Thanks so much for having me Kerry-Ann! This was fun!
